Sri Kalmeshwara Temple
Lord Shiva is a supreme god, know to be the destroyer of evils. He is worshiped in many names like shiva, rudra, atma linga, nataraja, mahadeva, gangadareshwara, kalmeshwara(linga) etc. His simplicity is the first thing to be loved, applies vibuthi(sacred ash) and wears rudraksh (utrasum beads tree). Very different from any other god wear abouts.
Shiva also called as ardanareshwara(a body with half women lord Parvathi and half himself). Devotees worship linga(symbol of lord shiva).
12 jyotirlingas are worshiped as lord shiva which is situated at different parts of India. It is belived the person who attain higher level spiritual attainment will see fire passing through the linga.
Lord Shiva mounts on dearest nandi(bull). Shiva himself found always with nandi, devotees also worshipped him nandishwara, this is the reason behind nandi and linga found together in temples.
